An evaluation is a systematic method for collecting, analyzing, and using data to examine the effectiveness and efficiency of programs and, as importantly, to contribute to continuous program improvements. The purpose of an evaluation is to determine effectiveness of the organization, a specific program or model and understand why a program may or may not be working. The goal is to improve the program or organization.

The Womanist Laboratory is an Africana, Americana women led social enterprise which functions to advance the quality of life on this planet by support organizations and efforts to improve educational outcomes, economic development, environmental stewardship, and cultural remembrance.
The Womanist Laboratory is invested in maintaining biocultural diversity of indigenous people globally and particularly the preservation of Africana cultural traditions, beliefs, practices, and other ways of being. This commitment is woven into all that we do.
We are a humanistic research and praxis laboratory. We are interdisciplinary in our approach with values and practices based in the natural sciences, social sciences and the humanities. We serve both the academy and the community. We are committed to improving the human experiences and all life on the planet. We believe in researching solutions and initiating changes as a community development effort. We believe community development is best achieved through innovation and measurable outcomes. These outcomes should be achieved through equitable and sustainable processes. Through the development of innovative projects and the proper assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of all programs, projects, and organizations, we can determine the good being done and how best to increase impact. Our work helps to improve the human condition on the planet and thus changing the world for the good of all.
